16th international congress of histochemistry and cytochemistry

International Federation of Societies for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry

The goal of International Congress of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry (ICHC), which is organized every four years, is to bring histochemists from all parts of the world together and provide an environment for fruitful cooperation and new collaborations. In 2020, this congress will be organized by the Society for Histochemistry in Prague, Czech Republic.

Society for Histochemistry

The Society for Histochemistry is an international association of scientists which was founded in 1952. Membership of the Society is open to scientists of all countries. The Society organizes annual scientific symposia, sponsors the Robert-Feulgen Lecture and awards the Robert-Feulgen Prize. The activities of the Society are connected with histochemistry and all related fields, especially cell and tissue biology, molecular biology, pathology, anatomy, and microscopy. The official journal of the Society is Histochemistry and Cell Biology.

  • Advancement of histochemical methodology and new developments in the field by organizing highly-quality sessions at symposia where top scientists present their latest findings
  • Stimulation of contacts between the novice and the more experienced young scientists on the one hand and the celebrities on the other
  • Creation of a platform where the young scientists can present their data and expose themselves to the top players in the field
  • Association with the top journal in the field of histochemistry "Histochemistry and Cell Biology"
  • Organization of workshops where specific methodology is exposed step by step to help young histochemists to apply valid methods and techniques
  • Stimulation of the development of new approaches in histochemistry such as live cell cytochemistry, nanoparticles and single molecule cytochemistry
